Quilt Organizations:
- Is Palouse Patchers a quilt guild? Our founding mothers consider us a club.
- Are there other quilt organizations or guilds in the area? Yes, the Palouse is home to several quilting organizations including Patchin’ People in Pullman and Seaport Quilters Guild in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley. Many of our members belong to multiple organizations.
- Do I have to live in Moscow to be a member of Palouse Patchers? No, we have members from many of the surrounding towns including Pullman, Clarkston, Lewiston, Viola, and Genessee. All are welcome.
- Is Palouse Patchers a nonprofit organization? Yes, Palouse Patchers is a 501c(3) organization and can accept tax deductible donations.
About Membership:
- How do I join Palouse Patchers? Dues are not charged but members are asked to work at the Latah County Fair in the fall and at the Quilt Show in the spring. They are also expected to provide one to two dozen home-baked cookies for the quilt show.
- Does it cost money to be a member? There are no dues or fees to be a member of Palouse Patchers. Members are expected to volunteer with the Quilt Show, and bake homemade cookies for the quilt show.
- I just want to quilt. Do I have to do anything else? No you do not. Each member gets as involved as they want to be. At a minimum, if you attend the meetings you will get to see a mini-quilt show each month during Show and Tell and get inspired by the monthly speakers.
- Are there any men in Palouse Patchers? Yes, several men are members and we welcome anyone who wants to attend.
- Do I have to be an expert quilter to join? No, you do not have to even know how to quilt to attend Palouse Patchers. Quilters of all abilities and ages are welcome, including wanna-be quilters who haven’t ever quilted before.
- Is the meeting space handicapped accessible? The 1912 Center is handicap accessible.
About Meetings:
- When/Where does Palouse Patchers meet? Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month except January, July and August at the 1912 Center. Social hour begins at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7:00.
- What do you do at meetings? We open with a welcome and introductions, conduct a business segment where the President and committee chairs report, we usually have a “Show and Tell” segment where members can share their latest creations, and we usually have a speaker.
- Are visitors allowed to attend meetings? Absolutely! We would love to have you attend.
- What if a meeting is cancelled due to bad weather? If the meeting is cancelled we will try to send out a timely email to the membership list regarding cancellation of the meeting.

- How can I participate in Palouse Patchers activities? Attend meetings. Ask someone in leadership if you want to help.
- I’m new to Palouse Patchers or the area and would like to meet other quilters. The meeting schedule is on the website.
- Does Palouse Patchers do charity projects? Yes, you can see our projects on our projects page.
- I work with a charity. Would Palouse Patchers consider it as a project? We are happy to consider any such requests through our contact page.
